I use a regular ikea worn out bowl from a bowl set($1) and it works great for this purpose. On seeing the price and hype I checked if it had any odor busters, non stick surface - NONE. Just a piece of melamine!
save your money, not even worth the brand hype! I wash my bowl once in 2-3 days and its always next to the sink.

This is my second "garbage bowl" and I've never used either one for garbage. I used the first one so much that I bought a second. I like to make bread, especially sourdough, and the receipes often call for a non-metallic bowl for the dough to rise and these are great for that. The steeply sloping sides help it rise well and it's easy to clean. These also make great everyday salad bowls or prep bowls for large amounts of ingredients.

I really love my Rachael Ray garbage bowl. When I first saw these, I thought "How is it different than any other bowl?!" But then I realized how this bowl makes my prep time so much easier because I am not walking from counter to trash can, or better yet, resting the stinky trash can next to me. I am glad to have a bowl specifically designated for garbage and it's stylish, which makes it even a better deal!

This multi purpose bowl is just the right size for so many things, it is durable and at the same time nice enough to have out on a table. Not your typical plastic bowl.

It's a great bowl for bake mixes as well as salads or anything you can think of, I love it.
